The door to Lyda's room opened slowly. Her father walked in with Lyda soon after him. There was nothing to be seen in the room. The filthy little girl was no where to be found. Lyda's father searched the floors and under the bed, nothing. Ary was outside the window, atop a paper thin piece of copper colored metal.

Lolita eyed him curiously Packaged? She thought, as she looked from him to the box she’d just stepped out of. She realized it was a coffin. The pieces of this strange situation were slowly starting to come together in her mind, though many parts were missing. Lolita looked down at the key in her hand before slipping it into a pocket in her skirt. Was I dead? She thought to herself. No she couldn’t possibly be dead. The gears in her mind were spinning as she tried to decipher all this. “I simply twisted your key.” The key, she thought, must be what made her pass out, and wake up. When mother insisted on the ‘surgery’ she thought the heart of brass was merely a decoration. Now she knew it was much more. These thoughts passed through her mind in a few seconds. She looked back up realizing she had yet to respond to the man’s inquiry. She was still somewhat distrustful, but he did have a logical explanation for his actions, and he was at least gentlemanly in his manner. She curtsied as she introduced herself “Pleased to meet your acquaintance. I am Lolita…” she paused. “…Callaghan.” She used her mother’s last name. Lolita had never thought of herself having a last name. For she’d never actually been introduced, or introduced herself to anyone before. Though, mother had taught her that one must always curtsy. And it would’ve sounded too common to simply give her first name. Lolita took out her fan, it was black lace, but the lace covered a series of sharp blades. She looked at him strangely at his offer, “Tell me Sir Arun, are all men as strange as you? Forgive the question; you see I’ve never met one save for the ones I was to kill. And that was not a meeting so much as an ambush.” As she fanned herself she got the sudden craving for tea. She felt it improper to ask, but then he did offer. “Tea would be lovely, thank you. Earl Grey if you’ve any.” She spared a glance to the unconscious man. Perhaps he's fainted. she thought as she stifled a laugh. A man fainting, the very idea was ridiculous. Mother always told her women were the ones who fainted. Always lacing their corsets too tight and passing out because of it. Well, if he has a corset to lace it must be rather tight. she thought, amused.

Floating her way downward, Ary heard the boy comment her dad said and giggled lightly. Once on the floor, Ary walked off still giggling. She finds a dumpster not far from Lyda's house and decides that she will see her new friend tomorrow after a long rest.

A cold, sharp blade was held to Cece’s throat. She ran her fingers over the metal. In a mellow voice she spoke, “Excuse me, can I help you in anyway?” She smiled innocently, despite the fact her shop was closed.
