Arun made no effort to evade the gunshot. Instead, he let the bullet burn into his flesh. He stood impassive, blood dripping down his side, while he watched Dam writhing in pain. “You made a dreadful mistake,” Arun hissed. He extracted a loaded pistol from his umbrella, aiming it between Dam’s eyes. “Disappear and never return. If I see your face here again, I will not rest until I have your head on my plate.”

He glared at Arun. The fact that a gun was pointing to his forehead didn't flinch him at all. He attempted to grab the Katana with both hands but his wrist injury stopped him. Realizing that the tides have been turned, he blinked twice, jumped away form the entrance, and walked away, cursing under his breath.

Lyda sat in the pew of the eerie chapel. She found herself enticed, for she had never truly been inside a church before.
Lyda pulled herself onto two feet and took step by step until she found herself standing on the the alter, gazing at the crucifix and blood shades of glass.
"Have you come for confession?" The voice startled her. A man dressed in head to toe black and white garments stood behind her. One of the younger priests.
"I'm sorry for disturbing you. By certain means, I found my way into this church." She still side glanced at the artfully created crucifix from her peripherals.
"You don't have to apologize for coming to God's place. What is your name?" He had such a calm and secure way of speaking. Lyda already had full trust in the man.
"My name is Lyda."
"It is my pleasure to meet you, Lyda. I am Father Issac. You seem troubled. Would you like to speak to me?"
"You won't tell anyone what I tell you, will you?"
"You have my word, and if what you speak of ever crosses my lips, may God send me to hell to be tortured for eternity." Lyda took that as a "no".
Lyda worked her way to the pews to sit down. Father Issac followed.
Besides the two of them, the whole chapel had become empty, and she lowered her voice so that her words wouldn't echo.
"I think I may possibly be a demigod. Actually, I know that I'm a demigod. The creature I despised most, growing up as a child." She paused, but he only nodded. "I didn't know at all what my abilities were, and I still don't truly understand them. But, but," Lyda released a breath." I have the power to do evil things, things other people would fear me for., and I'm afraid to hurt anymore people."

"All races of people are welcome here to worship God, and in His eyes and mine, you are nowhere near being a monster. Ask for forgiveness with all your heart for whatever you may have done, and he shall grant you whatever you need in life." The priest gave her an undecided look. " It is tearing you up inside, but He never gives us what He knows we can't handle. May He always be with you, young Lyda." The priest slowly stood up.
"All I have to do is be sorry, and He'll forgive me."
"Be sorry from the bottom of your heart and try to change your ways. Then, He will forgive you. Blessed be." He vanished from sight, leaving Lyda to her own thoughts.

At wasn’t until Dam had left from view that Arun lowered his gun and winced. He shielded his singed hole with his fingers to prevent more blood loss. Slouching, he entered his house and conjured a bandage for his wound. He would have to remove the bullet later. Changing into clean clothes, he pocketed a hundred dollar bill and left for Lyda. Attempting to mask his lingering pain, he smiled crookedly and tipped his hat to passing civilians until he reached the chapel doors.

Ary was still waiting at the footsteps of the chapel. She was passing the time fiddling with metallic animals. A snake, spider, and a bird was formed from spare change she found. The animals were hopping around each other, moving there limbs with ease. Ary laughed when she made the snake and bird hug each other. When she saw Arun walk by she yelped and tried to conceal her by looking downward.

Lyda sat their lifelessly when a loud noise was heard when the chapel doors began to open. The large wood moved to reveal Arun, her kidnapper. He seemed slightly more uneasy then he usually was, even when he kidnapped her. She stood up and began her way towards him.

Arun nodded to her, discretely using his umbrella as support. “They haven’t converted you, have they?” he joked. “That did not take nearly as long as I expected it to.” He smiled. “Where do you have to be? Might I escort you?” He held out his arm to her. “Also, you have a friend waiting just outside.”

"A friend?" Lyda thought for a moment.
The young metal girl.
"Oh. . . She followed me?" Lyda had been inside the church for a little over an hour or so. What patience Ary must have had.

Arun cleared his throat. “May we leave here? I have a prior commitment to reassemble a door.”

What about the girl?
"Oh, the young girl. She'll probably follow us anyways, so we might as well invite her to help." Lyda's reasoning skills had some faults and crevices.

Arun nodded. “Please, let us make haste. I don’t believe that door can remain open much longer.” He hurried her outside. "Join us if you wish," he said to the child plainly, allowing Lyda to make the formal introduction.

Ary stood up a followed the couple out of the courtyard. The animals became globs of melted metal and they flouted around her.

Lyda looked behind her at the floating metal, and in her mind, they doubled and each piece of metal had another floating around in different directions. It baffled her, but as she turned back forward, they began to fade away into nothingness.

Arun led the pair into the shopping streets where Cece’s candle shoppe resided. He knocked on the frame of her empty doorway, letting himself into the building. “Cece, I’ve returned,” Arun called to her. The girl was seated by lifeless fireplace, brushing her hair. She waved without turning. Arun waited for Lyda and Ary to enter before he leaned his umbrella against the counter and lifted the door, all the while holding his breath. “Get a broom,” he said to Lyda, motioning to the one beside a nearby shelf.

Lyda's walk became a stumble as everything began spinning and multiplying. She struggled towards the broom but crashed to the ground inches away. Darkness overcame her mind as she fell unconscious.

“Lyda!” Arun shouted as she collapsed behind him. Cece paused her brushing. Arun set the door aside to attend to the girl, propping her legs on his lap. He tilted her head to the side and sent Cece to retrieve moist towels. “Call a doctor,” he ordered. Then a thought crossed his mind; he felt his threads curiously as he lifted Lyda’s hat. When he saw the bizarre markings on her ears, he told Cece to disregard his previous comment. Applying the towels to her skin, he considered what to do with an unconscious demigod. “We have to move her to another room.”

(I'm tweaking Arun's ability. He's completely vulnerable unless he has the person's name. I need him to be somewhat independent. I admit: I only "won" the last showdown because DANIEL, YOU MADE DAM THE BIGGEST CLUTZ IN THE HISTORY OF THE HUMAN RACE. I will not allow defeat, but I also will not allow an altered win.
